Go to a salon!!! Please!!!! Black hair is very tricky and you have so many undertones to deal w/. Your stylist will know what to do. I'm a cosmetologist and I have black hair too and believe me, I can get some weird colors from just trying to go lighter, but I'm trained to know how to counteract them. Sometimes it sucks to have such dark hair. Please see your stylist. You'll still have to use a peroxide based color though but the color used in salons is so much gentler on your hair than box color and so forth.

you can't lighten black hair without amonia or peroxide, it needs to be stripped beore its dyed the hairdresser will do that but if you've never lightened your hair before it won't do any damage.

Go to a professional. You could end up turning your hair orange and spend even more money.
