spotting will happen now and again even if you didn't forget to take the bc pill.

Why have I been spotting and having irregular bleeding?
Birth control pill users, especially new users, often experience spotting halfway through their cycle. Increasing the strength of your oral contraceptives can stop this from happening. Additionally, spotting may be a sign that your pills are not as effective as they should be, therefore you should use an additional method of birth control when you have spotting. However, spotting is also a symptom of chlamydia, a sexually transmitted disease. If you think you are at risk for an STD, make an appointment with your health care provider to get tested.

Norplant and Depo-Provera users often have irregular menstrual patterns. No periods, light periods and prolonged or heavy periods are all normal side effects of these hormonal birth control methods. However, women experiencing prolonged or heavy bleeding should bring the issue to the attention of their health care provider.

you are probably okay, but if you miss a few pills you should never have unprotected sex. Missing over 2 pills of the pack at any time during the month means you are not protected from pregnancy. When you miss pills your hormones get mixed up, thats why your spotting, your body can't figure out if it is susposed to be on it's period or not. Stop taking the rest of the pills in the pack and wait for your period. If you end up being late, there is a possiblity you are pregnant so make sure to take a test, you may have also just messed up your cycle, so try not too worry too much about it. In the future, if you skip one or two pills use a condom, just to be on the safe side.

You spot because you missed the pill a few days. This is not good. If you take the pill like you are supposed to, you will not spot and the pill is almost 100% effective. If you screw up and miss it sometimes, it's effectiveness decreases and you may end up pregnant. If you don't want to waste your money on this form of birth control...take it like it is intended to be taken, or don't bother.

it's an effect while on the pill to spot, most probably because you missed the tablets. as for the unprotected sex well unless it was the first time for both of you, you are at risk of STD's (sexually transmitted diseases). there is the morning after pill when not using any form of contraception but is only good the morning after and is only good for preventing pregnancy not STDs. the spotting may pass but I would suggest going to a health care clinic or your own Dr. and let them know whats happened. Better to have peace of mind otherwise you will stew on it for days and that will only make you sick with anxiety. Just go to your Dr please.

It happens when you miss pills...its called breakthrough bleeding. You may be pregnant depending on where you were in your cycle...if you miss pills you should be using a backup method of birth control
