I would suggest you consider galvanized electrical conduit. Sand it with 300 grit emery paper or 0000 steel wool until it is bright and shiny. This keeps any crud from getting on your clothes.

That's what we have in our closets and it works great!!

go to your nearest b&q or jewson. or you can order from screwfix over the net.

galvanized electrical conduit, we don't polish it.
