Adobe photoshop or seriff Photoplus 10 should do the trick, scan in your notes using a scanner then you can use different effects to alter your scanned image. if you decide to keep an origianl copy of the scanned note please be sure to use a £50 and send me some copies. about 100 should do.

The Gimp doesn't support printing so probably isn't your best option.
Kids love projects like this, it'll keep them amused for hours.
