The army says there are not enough helicopters in Afghanistan, so I'm wondering about buying them one! (Joke!) But don't know how much they cost. I guess chinooks are dearer than others, but don't know.

The least expensive helicopter that I know of is the two seat Robinson model. They cost a couple hundred thousand dollars. Helicopters can easily go into the tens of millions of dollars depending what they are used for, how they are equipped, how large they are, etc.

Afully loaded army helicopter will cost you just short of 30 million pound`s , then you have the price of fuel on top of that !

There are 40 Sikorsky helicopters in this country and they are all owned by or used by the Oil companies... no math needed here. They cost more than I can afford, I know that.

helicopter prices are odd things, because the aircraft have to be effective re built at 2000 hours, the price of an hours close one will be dirt cheap, but post re build they fetch a price over the cost of the re bulid. for example an r22 will cost £100000+ brandnew but you can pick one up for re-build hours for 15,-20,000....
In term of military helicopters the government has 500 mothballed at various airfield around the country.
