Is it something that you need to dedicate and entire day to or something that you could get there when it opens on a sunday and still make a 6:30 PM flight out of Burbank?

On a Sunday? You'll still be rushing, because the rush hour on a Sunday is worse than the weekday around the Airport, because everyone is going home. You could get from point A to point B in an hour. Getting back could take you 3! You need an entire day to get the full effect. But on the weekend it doesn't matter because they won't be filming. Most of that happens during the week.

You could definitely see most if not all of USH on a sunday if you get there first thing. I would guess it would be a 15-20 min drive max. to get to Bob Hope airport.
