I suffer from depression and lately I have been getting physically ill ( vomiting). I am supposed to take my medication 2 twice a day. How can I make sure I get medication when I have been sick for the past 2 weeks. I have not been able to keep anything down for more than 4-5 hours.

The 4-5 hours are probably long enough for the medicine to clear your stomach. I do think you need to get something for the nausea though. Do you think the vomiting is part of the depression? Depression can make you physically ill. The medicine could be making you ill also. I know it doesn't seem like it since it is 4-5 hours before you get sick, but it could be the medication. Look up the side effects and see if nausea is one of them.

Depression causes your immune system to break down, so you do get sick. Make sure you are taking vitamins and such. Drink 7-up, Ginger Ale, or Sprite, along with mylanta or somthing to soothe your stomach. It's really important that you at least keep taking your meds, even if you do throw up. Hope you feel better!

Tell your Doctor that you cannot keep anything down, he might give you something for your stomach to settle. If you are not taking your depression medication, that can make you ill also, because it works with your mind. So go to the Doctor, or call him to prescribe something for you. OK?

u need to go back to the doctor and tell him all this...depression isnt anything to mess around with and neither are the meds u take for it ...i know because i am going through it and its been 2 weeks for me and i am on meds for it and i have had nausea also from my meds but u need to go to the doctor if your vomiting ..its a side effect more than likely... u can also look up your meds on line and get information on them and their side effect ..thats what i do so u can learn a little bit about the drug if your interested in what it does to you

It is amazing what physical problems depression can cause. I had IBS with depression. Contact a gastro doc/internist. They will understand. It is important also that you make sure the med is not making you sick.

Talk to your doctor and explain to him that the medication you are taking is doing no good. It could be something more servere. Get a check up as soon as possible.

I am not sure if you have to take your meds at a certain time but if you can take one of them before you go to bed it may help.

That said you should really see your doctor and tell her what is going on. :-)

Good luck it may take a while to get a med that works for you

4 or 5 hrs should be enough to metabolize your meds.
