well this is the catch a player always uses these trashy time tested lines and trust me stupid girls always fall for it. I aint a player , but I know a hell lot of them who swear by this...sorry to say this but thats the truth...next time if you want to make out the right one dont fall for the super slick guy, where everything is too perfect , it sounds hard for a girl as they mostly beleive in destiny trash and meant to be crap but its the truth....true guys are never perfect , so its the easiest way you can make them out.

It's impossible for anyone other then him to know for sure, but you can pretty much tell from the way he said it. If he seemed cool and sincere, I'd guess it may be an overreaction to feelings of friendship on his part, if he seemed nervous I'd think he really does love you. It's important to remember that everyone handles situations differently(especially ones like this). The best advice I can possibly give is to look inside, if you feel like you may love him, see where it goes. If you don't feel the same, try letting him down gently; if he really loves you, he'll more then likely wish to remain friends and hope for your happiness. "Love" has pretty well been proven to grow and fade over time, so it's not impossible that this is just a spike due to spending a bunch of time with you; it may also be that spending more time together has been due to his feelings for you. The possible answer could be explained by who's idea it has been to spend so much time together(especially if it's been more constant recently). Many people end up becoming best friends because of strong feelings for the other, often it turns into a feeling of "love". With all that being said, the best thing you could do is either ask him in a very straight forward manner about how sincere he is, and look to your own feelings about him. Thanks and I hope this helps.

mmmmm, i'll be very frank here and revel the guys big secret....:-p
when they get to know a girl, "specially when a player does", ((there must be something about her, mainly, sexy, or have some money))...ORRRRR, she has some sweet friends...so she'll be taken as the ladder to them....and usually it works, why because there are like 90% of the guys and almost 95% of the girls are just assholes by nature..:-D, betraying friends, and running after their desires like animals, for me, i could be close as no one can possibly think with a girl, BUT if she said she loves me, NO MATTER WHAT WAS THE OCCASION, and i'll be like :-\ she's a liar, and until today i never missed that but once..:'-( where i loved the girl to death....then she killed me...heheheheh, so ever since, i never believed it, for i didn't see more than the love i gave, and i thought i had........
anyway...my advice is, don't you girls believe it, specially if you meet him in a club or these super cool events....hehe...;)
take care

Some guys use the words 'I love you' as currency to get what they want usually sex, money, forgiveness. But don't put yourself down because you fell for a player. That kind of guy is usually damaged in some way and doesn't even know the meaning of the word love. Consider yourself lucky that you saw through him and got out of there.

Love means different things to different people. He may have 'loved' you at the time. Ask anyone right after sex and they'll tell you that they love you because of the endorphins that are racing through their bodies give such a sense of euphoria that it feels like ultimate love. As one matures we realize that what we're really looking for is committment, not love. So rather than bash men for telling you that they love you, why not look for a more meaningful committed relationship. Love is easy, committment is difficult.

Because women "need" to hear it in order to get into their pants... I love you and respect you, always... Then after the sexual conquest... "Who? DO I know you?"
The best way to tell the difference is the guy who really means it, accepts and respects your no for your answer. He usually isn't afraid of talking about a permanent commitment. When you talk marriage/family and it doesn't rattle him...

You answered your own question, you were so insecure and believed that some one had to love you so you needed to believe. Excellent lesson for life,

Real men don't toss it around, others use it as a means to get what they want a "bargaining tool" if you may. Others say it as a response when it is said to them. They don't want to hurt your feelings.
