What is the bearing capacity of different types of soil?what holds the most?what holds the least?

i am doing a science project and i need to know which soil holds a the mostand which holds the least!

I rekon clay holds the most,and sand the least. has to do with Bonding Ability and such. thats just a guess, but it makes sence.

I would suspect that caliche has among the best properties for bearing large loads (without additional compaction.) Sand (without compaction) may be among the worst.
