I am terribly streaky.

It was the kind that develops over a few hours but I didn't apply it evenly and now I have unsightly streaks.

Lemon Juice works extremely well.

The same way you remove dead skin cells! Exfoliation. Amazingly, you may use baking soda in the same fashion to remove a run of tanning spray that has traveled, up your arm during the application. Put a small amount of baking soda on a damp washcloth, dampen skin and gently rub off the tanning product. Depending on how dark the product is, you may need to give your skin a rest between attempts of removal. The process could require two or three procedures. Do remember that if you use your best linens, the product can stain if not washed immediately.

Hot water with lemon juice is excellent for removing fake tan. Scrub scrub scrub!

Lemon juice rubbed in, leave overnight if possible, shower and good moisturiser in the morning. If you dont have any in the house toothpaste should help a bit - especially if it is the whitening stuff.

Good luck - and never do it without the tan remover wipes to hand.

You can buy tan removal wipes for exactly that purpose - unfortunately you'll have to wait for the shop to open. Most large chemists, ie Boots have them with the tanning products - I never fake it without them in the house!

I know this is going to sound weird but ...

teeth whitening gel (the kind in tubes, not the strips).

It has an active hydrogen peroxide lightener in it. Massage it in, leave it for 10 minutes or so, scrub the area well, and you should see some improvement.

Take a luke warm bath with alot of lemon juice in it. Make sure to scrub your body and the bath will lighten the streaks as you scrub them off.
