Genuine Advantage problems are appearing constantly these days. I also have multiple computers but only one copy of WinXP. However, there is a rather easy solution.

Go to the Automatic Updates options and set them "Notify me but do not download or install them". Doing so will make an icon appear in your system tray whenever updates are detected. Clicking the icon will display a list allowing you to select which updates to install, and which to ignore. Genuine Advantage Notification appears on that list. Deselect it and choose the option to ignore it in the future. It will not be installed, you will get no further reminders, and will still have full access to Automatic Updates. The only thing you cant do is download things directly from the Microsoft websites.

Obviously this solution is only useful if you dont already have Genuine Advantage Notification on your computer, or are willing to perform a full format/reinstall. You may also need a slightly older WinXP installation CD as Genuine Advantage Notification may be part of the installation with newer versions... I dont know.
