He has expressed a great interest in it lately. I have two for research/entertainment purposes only (deist) and though my son can read well, I don't know if such a book is appropriate for a 6 year old. I mean, he can read well. But a six year olds interpretation is very literal. I would feel the same way about the bible or torah or Upanishads, so please, no bashing now. Should I let the boy read it as he wishes? Or, should I take it away? Right now, I have let him have one of them to read. He keeps asking me questions, but I am not a Muslim. I also don't want to discourage him to follow his heart, no matter what I think. What should I do? (Sorry WDISR)

I think you should let him read it but ensure that you read it with him so that you can explain how different interpretations can be taken. Also encourage him to read other books such as the bible, torah etc at the same time so that he can compare and contrast, I would also throw in something like aboriginal dreamtime belief.

That's your decision. You know your child and his emotional level. I personally would allow my own children to read the Qur'an if they expressed an interest. I'd read with them, though, since it's certainly over a six-year-old's comprehension level. I've read the Qur'an, but I'm no expert on it, so we'd have a great time looking up answers together to all the questions we'd inevitably have.

I believe s.zar. the countless verses in the Qu'ran like poetry, the place there's a hidden message and sweetness for people who comprehend. in spite of the fact that, do not enable this discourage you from interpreting as motives grants help to study with extra desirable understand-how. i attempt to study little by making use of little, as a exchange of massive chunks at a time, in any different case i hit upon that I lose the which skill of what i'm interpreting. i desire which you come across what you're in seek of for in the Qu'ran, and extra inshaAllah.

I would let him read it. That is amazing that a 6-year old would show such interest in such an intense subject. Don't discourage that.

Praise be to God! That's amazing. Quran is the Word of God and it's not for one particular group of people, it's for everybody, be it children or adults. It's also free from any defects, meaning there is no human's words in it. There is also no adult content as you find in other religious books. It teaches One God, and that Muhammad is His messenger. It recognizes the Virgin Mary as the pious God fearing chaste woman, who gave birth to a prophet of Allah miraculously. It teaches that Jesus is the Christ, and that he will come back before the end of times. It teaches us to believe in old the previous messengers and respect them (i.e Abraham, Moses, Ishmael, Isaac, Solomon, Ilyas, Jesus...etc)

So why should you stop him from reading such a wonderful book? Let him be maybe one day he will ask for your forgiveness! Maybe because of this act you will be saved? Allah knows best.

Actually choosing books for kids should be yourself.! But if he like to read Koran that's really something. But is he read that book in English? Anyway he like to read holy books . You should proud of your child. Other boys are like to sneak vulgar magazines now days. Compare to that your boy is great. But if you think these books are extra ordinary matter to him but some religious books which are published for kids.
