In the UK prisoners in jail wear boring clothes like tracksuits and sneakers, yet American Prisoners wear fantastic stuff like jumpsuits, hospital scrubs, striped pyjamas and flip flops.

Surely prisoners ought to wear weird uniforms like those in American jails, not ordinary clothes?

Its true! Did you read in the newspaper (Guardian) today that some local sheriff in Texas has introduced PINK uniforms for the prisoners in his local county jail and has subsequently cut the re-offending rate massively as the local tough guys dont want to look like namby pambys! I read about one Sheriff in Texas who makes his prisoners wear pink uniforms. They do not re-offend. The success rate is about 70% - no man wants to wear pink, right!
