Just got a new kitty named Rusty, I'm not thrilled with this name.so I'm trying to convince my 3 and 5 yr old

Question

to change his name...
He is orenge and white with a big old long and really fluffy tail... any suggestions u think a 5 yr old will agree with send em my way!

Hi. The kitty won't care what you call it, as long as you call it to dinner! ;) Seriously though, do try to name it something without a lot of "S" sounds in it--cats don't like the hissing sound of "s."

Your boys would probably like a name they can relate to--my husband calls our male cat "Thomas the Tank Engine" and we call him Tommy. Do your little guys have a favorite cartoon character? Maybe the name of one of their favorite cartoon characters would do.

When I was a kid, over a century ago it seems, we had a male orange tabby that we named Mickey because back in the 60s, Mickey Mouse was The MAN.... now, I have a black part siamese cat named "Mr. T" and his brother, a standard tabby, named "Tiggie"... some other names of cats I've had, "Mouse", "Puppykitty" cuz he was a huge as a dog!, King, Oscar, Fat Boy (i loved that name because he was!), well you get the idea, and then there IS always Rum a tumtum Tigger (who is a Curious Cat!)

But honestly, your boys could probably change their minds about his name a gazillion times. Good luck picking a name you like, and your whole family will remember.

LOL my cat is named Rusty. But that's because I named him after my Dad. OK here is my list of names, Ditto, Tigger or Tiger, Pooh, Oddball, Quackers, Squiggy, Tinker, Felix. Those are all the male names I have had for cats of the years. Good Luck KG
