Oh I have tons! Off the top of my head, lots of carved pumpkins and things like that for decor. They have great stuff at the dollar store.

For food, popcorn balls are great and can be dyed orange (or another halloween color like purple or red). Having the kids make their own snacks would be fun as well. Give each child a paper plate and give them a marshmallow, 8 stick pretzels, and 2 brown M&Ms. Have each child stick the legs (the pretzels) into the marshmallow to make the body of the spider. Go around with a tube of frosting and put a dot of icing on the backs of the M&Ms and have the kids stick them on for eyes.

I've got tons more ideas, so feel free to contact me if you need any.

i like halloween but i dont like to spend much money on it so what i did is this....*might sounds funny*...

well,
out of a big, old, ugly pullover i made a ghost out of it. on the neck part i wraped a few little plastic bags and then i covered the whole thing with a big black trashbag. on the neck i placed a string around it to form a head...and on each side i made a little whole and pulled out the arms.....

or with walmart plastic bags i ball 1sheet of newspaper and put it in,put a string under it and for the face i used little tape stripes....so its waterproof.... lol...looks really good...

for the food....
if u have kids involved u wanna go healthy as much as u can...that doesnt mean its gonna be boring or wont taste good.
-there are cookie recipies with pumkin
-u can make a fruite salad and in the sauce u can add some food-color (which is not damaging the body)
-also MY favorite..... u know those normal plasic gloves u sometimes get when u buy a hair color product? those clear through gloves are so great when u feel them up with jello...there are so many different colores of jello...u can add little fruit peaces to the jello and fill it in...tight it up REALLY good and put it in the freezer. then on the partyday hava big maybe metall plate ready....take the gloves quickly run them under hot water just for a 2sec and open them up and get the frozen hands out of it and place it on the plate with maybe some whipp cream around it.....or fruits.....somthing they like....

hope i helped.... lol (sorry for my kinda bad english...)

oh i love halloween! probably because its my birthday and i'm a witch but anyway!

Games, you can either go for regular party games and spook them up, musical scares (last one to pull a scary face when the music stops is out), or more traditional apple bobbing (too messy imo) or you could string apples or even donuts up and get them to see how long it takes them to take a bite! another fun one is just a lucky dip in a bag...make the gifts things like toy spiders and snakes and put them in a bag...of cooked spaghetti! bound to make them squeal in delight! Scary themed pass the parcel might be good too and its an old favourite. add plastic spiders, snakes etc in between the layers so all the kids get a prize of some sort.

music depends really, there are some scary soundtracks out there for adult movies and the such but sometimes music can be what scares the bejezus out of kids so perhaps just some kids music would be better.

food try and make scary pizzas, add olives, mushrooms, tomatoes etc to make spiders, skull faces etc; rolls can also easily be made into spiders with celery legs! drinks you can food colour if you want to but be warned if you have light coloured carpets! also you can either make from scratch or buy some little buns and decorate them like eyeballs or again spiders on webs with just some icing, icing pens and sweets.

decor is easy as there are so many things out there at the moment including pumpkin door curtains, hanging witches on brooms etc but if you want to make your own get your kids to make them before the day as a little project on a wet afternoon; draw some pictures or print off some cliparts and get them to colour them. you can easily make mobiles with some old wire hangers or even a halloween themed wreath, try sticking drawings of or even real autumn leaves to the stretched out hanger after covering it in newspaper and tying onto it with wire some little oranges with faces drawn on like pumpkins. also if you're feeling up to having candles around with kids save some jars to put tealights in and create some cut outs on orange and black crepe paper with designs like witches, spiders, stars etc on them to wrap around the jar. relatively inexpensive but very effective! Also big cardboard boxes are easily turned into gravestones!

Well i hope this helps, have a great time and trick or treat/play safe!!!

Mummy wrap, "ghost ghost goblin" instead of "duck duck goose", pin the tail on the cat, pin the wart on the witch (use magnets and your fridge instead of pins and the wall!), ghost in the graveyard (hide and seek).
As for food, go to kraft.com and search for Halloween in the recipes. They have TONS!
For music, Wal-Mart, Hastings, Walgreens, etc. have cheap Halloween cds.
For decor, Wal-Mart or the dollar store. Both have lots of neat stuff!

have you got a shed in the garden?

If you have clear it out and turn it into a 'house of horror' which basically means get someone to sit under a table in the middle of the shed with a cloth over the table.

Get the kids to walk around the shed and get the person under the table to gently touch one kid every so often

I loved this as a kid

Things you could put in a bowl and have people blindfolded and have them stick their hands in to see if the can tell what they are?

cooked angel hair or spaghetti = brains or intestines
olives = eyeballs

meat balls as eyes, spaggetti as witches hair, fresh meat as brains.
All has to be done in the dark, with a torch (in your hands) while telling a ghost story - pass the items round as you tell the story and including the parts in as you go.
