avoid wearing flip-flops and just before bed, wash your feet with a flannel and normal soap or shower gel, and while they're still damp, moisturise your feet then apply a thin layer of Vaseline petroleum jelly and wear a pair of socks. Not only is this great to keep you warm in the winter, it'll soften your feet quick and easy. I used this method when I had thick hard skin on my heels and side of my big toe and my feet are soft and supple now.

During your shower, use a hard skin remover (you can buy them in Boots the chemist - the metal one is the most effective but you need to be careful using it). Then dry your feet and put on some Flexitol Heel Balm (also from Boots - a bit more expensive than cosmetic foot creams but well worth it). Try to wear cotton socks for a couple of hours after you've applied it, preferably overnight if you can. You need to do it regularly (every other day) for a few weeks and then just maintain it once a week.
My feet used to be completely disgusting until I started doing this.

You can also buy metal scrapers that work even better than the pumice stone. They look like mini graters. You have to be careful that you don't grate off too much skin when you use them.

Soak your feet in a hot foot bath with epsom salts. When you are beginning to prune, use the grater to gently remove layers of the thick callus. Then dry your feet and put on A LOT of moisturizer, and then a pair of thick socks over top to prevent you from slipping around on your floors.

I do this to my feet every week. Especially in winter, when I don't walk around bare foot as often.

Use a pumice stone every day when you shower on the bottoms of your feet and your heels. Make sure to lotion them when you get out of the tub. Once a week or so, slather your feet with petroleum jelly, put on white cotton socks, and sleep in them. The next morning your feet will be soft and smooth.

The Body Shop has a wonderful pumice scrub that really works for me. I use a foot file with the pumice scrub when my skin gets really hard around my heels. You just use it when you're in the shower so you don't have to set aside special time to do it, you just include it in your daily cleaning regimen. I also recommend using the Body Shop hemp foot protector cream. And no, I'm not a Body Shop representative. I just love their products & I know they work for me!

warm bath or foot bath. dry feet, file off some of the hard dry skin. slather feet in cream and put feet in freezer bags for at least an hour. Repeat from a couple of times a week.

Lovely feet in just a couple of weeks.

Soak your feet for 10 minutes in warm soapy water than exfoliate with a pumic stone. Than use Burt's Bees Coconut foot creme and put on socks, it's a little messy but it works. Do this before you go to bed and you should wake up with pretty feet.
