Most likely the tooth is tender when eating types of candy such as carmel or chocolate. You may notice a blackish color spot on the tooth. That is just from my experience.

How do you know if you have a cavity? Is this what you are asking?

Sensitivity to sweets is a good clue. Also having a dark soft spot on the tooth. But usually by the time you know you have a cavity, it is a huge cavity. Get to the dentist ASAP. Get regular checkups to catch these things when they are small!

Only your dentist can tell you. They would take x-rays and examine your teeth. Even if you knew if you had one, you would still have to see a dentist to get it fixed. My advice--go to the dentist and get a checkup.

Good luck!
