I'm on the quiet/ shy side and some people mistake my silence for rudeness or they think I'm anti social. I don't see her having that impression because I know I will make a good effort to show her my true personality. I am nervous around new people and I need advice. How were things when you met a significant others' family?

PS- I do know that she has wanted him to get with a nice girl. She lives one state away and thinks a girlfriend will "keep him on track" while he's away from home.

Well! I've had a variety of family types with significant others. My most recent was with a boyfriend's mother who was EXTREMLY outgoing. While you should still be sure to not act fake, take the lead from the mom. If she asks you lots of questions, push yourself to give her semi-in-depth answers, instead of one word yes or no. If she doesn't seem to be very outgoing try asking HER some questions, and be sure to show an actual interest in her and your boyfriend's home life. Tip to keep it from being super awkward: treat her like any other friend's mom, not like your boyfriend's mom, it makes things seem much less tense, and uncomfortable for all three of you!
Good luck!

Dress more conservatively and use little makeup. Address her by title and last name (example: "Mrs. Jones").If you're not sure how she'd like to be addressed (Ms. or Mrs.) and not sure of her last name, ask your BF in advance. Make eye contact when you talk to her. You should be fine.

*Don't dress like a tramp
*Smile
*Don't act like you know everything
*Help out after the meal so you two can be together (besides she will think you are sweet for helping her clear the dishes) *Don't sleep in the same room with your bf under her roof (its just rude)
