As everyone else has said ADOPT! Although I won't claim to be an expert mixed breeds tend to suffer less from genetic disorders resulting from inbreeding. When adopting a mixed small dog however, if they have any idea what the mix is avoid big/little mixes as these dogs tend to have more health problems, but if they win your heart, they are still soooo worth it. I have also found mixed breeds, for the most part, to have better temperments.

i say go to the pound first and see what they have there. as for the breeder if you go that way read up on small breeds to see what would suit you best. but try the pound first they have great dogs there. they got cats too.

You should adopt from your local shelter you would be giving a homeless dog a chance to have a loving family. Some of the best dogs come from shelters. Plus you would be saving a life!

If I were you I would get a puppy from the pound, and let that puppy pick you. Pound dogs are always better as they are there waiting for someone to come and save them from the---------.

Always check the pounds first. There are ALOT of homeless pets out there. Or if you decide on a specific breed, contact a rescue orginazition.

adopt a dog from your local shelter.You are giving a poor dog a place to live.They are the ones that NEED to be adopted more. You are saving a life.The dogs that arnt wanted are put to sleep!

I personally like chiuahuaus but everyone says they are ankle biters but i have two of them and they haven't bitten not one person...very loyal and cute...
