I think it is wrong to treat people who grew up differently in a mean and hurtful way. You can't blame everyone , because of a few @$$holes.

Islamophobia is often flung around to mean any comment against Islam, no matter how true the comment is. For example, it is considered part of "Islamophobia" to cite Islam as a faith that condones and perpetrates violence, although Islamist response to Danish cartoons created by non-Islamists (which were pointed out as "Islamophobic") and comments by the Pope (also cited as "Islamophobic") was to go on violent attacks against Scandinavians and Christians respectively.

I believe before 9-11 most people around the world could have cared less about their beliefs and religion. Now, however we know what they are capable of doing. And I truly believe most people are very suspicious of them- brought on by extremist they did not control.
It is unfortunate that most Moslems do not condemn the acts of the few but applaud their actions. They wonder why most Americans do not like them or are mistrustful - those are some of the reasons.
For myself- I am suspicious of them, but honor their right to practice their religion, even if they do not honor mine.

It certainly is present. My fear is that modern societies like the U.S.A. and Canada will have to make concessions in order to passify these ancient beliefs.

A phobia is defined as an irrational fear.

Hmm....over 6000 documented terror attacks perpetrated by Islamic terrorists since 9/11/2001, that's almost 4 per day, on average. I don't think there's anything irrational about being afraid of that.

Islam actually was founded as a murderous cult, and some sects are trying to return to those roots:

I'd say 73% of the world is afraid of Islam or think it's dangerous. The effects of such fear are that all revealed religions will hopefully be destroyed so we can live in peace.

Almost almost armed conflict worldwide is Islamic.

Is it rational to fear a force that is at war everywhere? Was it rational to fear the spread of Nazism?
