I have been with my boyfriend for 8 years. I have been trying for that long to get my boyfriend to open up and share his feelings. It is not an easy task. What I have learned in my opinion is that you can't help them open or make them. Its all in him. He loves you and I believe love will make things last. When he feels like he is ready to share he will. He may not share all of what you are looking for, but that will come in time. My boyfriend has shared alot with me over the years, but there is still stuff I don't know. The more I don't push him to talk, he tends to come to me more and open up. It will come in time. Guys aren't like girls. We will tell our feelings to almost anyone who will listen. Guys don't do that. They feel if they talk about there feelings they won't feel as masculine.

If he really truly loves you like he says he does, then he shouldn't be too scared to at least be honest with you! Before you put your hole heart on the line, you should make sure he is doing the same! Just because he hasn't done this or felt this way before doesn't mean anything! The fact that you said "we want to be with each other as long as we can" confuses me. What do you mean as long as you can?

Just be open and honest with him. You can't force someone to be open to you, it comes over time. Let him know that you'll be there for him, no matter what, and that you won't judge him for whatever it is he says. Trust is EARNED not just haphazardly handed out. It takes time.

And, BTW, not to completely burst your bubble, but love and trust go hand in hand. You cannot love someone you don't trust... but again, they both take time and have to be earned. Neither should be given lightly or it isn't worth it. GL to you.

This is something that he has to work out for himself. Don't push him or you'll scare him away. Just let things be and give him room.
