I'm having a problem with this question. In my class we are talking about the French Revolution. The question is what political factions made up the Legislative Assembly? Exactly what does this question mean? I am not sure. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Factions are sub-groups of a political body that are politically aligned, in opposition to the other subgroup(s). The Legislative Assembly had two major factions: the Feuillants ("Left") and the Jacobins ("Right").

The National Constituent Assembly dissolved itself on September 30 1791. Upon Robespierre's motion it had decreed that none of its members should be capable of sitting in the next legislature. Its successor body, the Legislative Assembly, operating under the liberal French Constitution of 1791, did not last a year and was generally deemed a failure. It left behind an empty treasury, an undisciplined army and navy, and enormous domestic turmoil.

The Legislative Assembly entrenched the perceived left-right political spectrum that is still commonly used today.

I have pasted and copied this information from Wikipedia, you can do the same just type in French Revolution Legislative Assembly if you want more info it's all there.

The reason for politics is because people think differently and need representatives, sides or factions to present their goals. The Legislative assembly is where those representatives can hash out comprimises so everyone can be served with justice according to their views. So you need to list the different groups who support common views. Like here in america, we have Democrats and republicans....these are factions.
