Probably around 5 gifts at whatever budget you can afford, they get very overwhelmed at that age - they seem to have much more fun opening presents when they get to around 3 for some reason??

Personally though i wouldn't go over £100, just to line the pockets of companies who make a fortune already. It's easy to have fun with kids at that age without spending a fortune.

It all depends on your income.

Personally speaking, it has gotten less as the years have gone on! For the first it was over load, for the second I was more realistic and for the 3rd boy I am struggling to think up new things! I got so much for the 1sts Christmas and by his next Christmas he had just about played with most of it, so a reality check was taken as to actually how much a two year really does need.

I have to admit to recycling one big toy that was hardly played with. It had been stowed away for so long I knew that son no1 had forgotten about it so I put it out from Santa for middle son's 2nd Christmas - and it was the most played with toy! Both of them homed in on it straigt away and No1 son had no idea it had been his. I put the money I would have spent into No2s bank account instead. He has not grown up feeling deprived or lacking in any way so I cannot be made to feel bad about it!

You really don't get much for your money now but it really is quality not quantity that counts.

And I still haven't answered the question!! Probably about £100 each and less if I can find bargains and that includes any gift I might buy between them.

at that age I would by one nice gift, like the V smile and some games, other than that they get so much stuff from friends and family, it gets over whelming, and most of the toys are played with for a week and left in the toy box for months spend the money on 1 or 2 items that he can really use. I would let my girl open all her gifts and then give her one and put the rest up in the closet so there wasn't a mess of toys. When she was over playing with that toy after a week or a month depending on how much she liked it I would hand her down a new one, that way she got new toys all year long and her room wasn't a mess. One year I did this and about 3 months later a girl she went to daycare with house burnt down, she looked at all those toys and asked if she could give some to the little girl. Christmas shouldn't be about stuff anyway and you want them even at a very young age to understand that it is just stuff, and stuff comes and goes!!

Since there is no such thing as "Xmas" I would NOT spend anything. However, since there is Christmas,I would ask are you the Parent or Grandparent? As a Grandparent,I would say sky is the limit:) As the Parent,I would not spend over $100 at the most,he is still kinda small and you can get a V-Smile for around $50 plus maybe one more cartridge for around $10-15,and still be able to get him some trucks or cars too. Maybe even a pair of PJ's too. Just some thoughts. Personally,I didn't spend over $100 on mine when they were little. Good luck

I have four kids and I am on a budget. I allow $125 for each of my kids that way it is fair on my pocket. I usually take them to the store and show them certain things and say "would you like Santa to bring you that?". That way I get an idea for my 3 and 4 yr old. If this is not your child and a relative/friend then I try and limit to $20 on all other kids that not mine. Also, for some ideas you should consider things like diego and dora because they are very educational. I also like the v tech and v smile products.

I would not spend no more than 50 to 100 dollars. Childrens clothing is not very expensive and neither are their toys. A lot of stuff could be bought for 100 dollars for a 2 yr. old.

When my son turned 2 I didn't have much money. I felt so bad, all I could afford was a 97cent airplane from the drug store. He's 25 now and I still have that plane! It was his favorite gift! I learned you don't have to spend alot for it to have great impact!

I say between 20-40 dollars cause he'll play with it then in about a week he'll get tired of it and move on to some other sort of stimulation. Kids get tired of tings real fast plus his parents will constanly be buying him new stuff then yours is going to end up in the toy bin with all the other stuff he dosen't play with anymore.

I wouldn't go broke or anything..but this is really going to be a fun year for him. He'll have tons of fun tearing off the paper & getting gifts. You could go cheaper by buying a lot of smaller things & maybe 1 larger thing from "Santa". I wouldn't spend anymore than $100 to $150

I usually spend about $200/child for xmas. If you have other children you could spend $100/child, and then about $200-300 in joint gifts that they would all be using.
