in truth with all types of modalities for pain relief and such each patient does not have the same outcome for each of the different devices. so say the ultrasound worked wonders for you but it may not have much effect on another persons problem usually depends on the patient, injury type, tissue type.

So first off see the doctor get checked out, then go to physical therapy and get treated for the tendonitis. and if the ultrasound works for you then your therapist/or doctor can order you a home unit after you have been educated on safe use with the machine to use the machine for relief, since they do sell small handheld portable units, that you could be easily trained on how to use it on yourself safely.

good luck

I have patella tendonitis and the ultrasound therepy helped tremendously. however i didnt use it at home I went into a physical therepy center where a trained profressional did it. i would never reccomend doing a procedure yourself. Health insurance should cover your physical therepy so I would go in and have a physical therepist do it. This will better garuntee yourresults. good luck i know how bad tendonitis can be!!

ultrasound devices should only be used by trained ultrasound technologists. they are not toys for personal use! and besides, if you really want to see achilles tendonitis, you need to have a doctor order an MRI for your ankle. likewise, MRI machines should only be used by trained MRI technologists. radiation technologists go to school for many years in order to understand how these machines work and what the images indicate.

it should be illegal for individuals to purchase such machines anyway.
