About 4-5 drops of mineral or baby oil in the ear and massage the base of the ear, but be sure not to put too much of any oil in the ear because it will go into their throat and make them sick.
After you put the drops of oil in and all that, you can take a clean cloth or cotton ball and gently clean the rest of the ear...but don't use Qtips at all.
edited to add that you can even use veggie or corn oil if you don't have the other on hand, and you don't need to get a prescription or the meds from the store. Those contain poison that can make a kitty very ill. Most of the OTC ones contain pyrethins which is not healthy for them at all.

No good home remedy. Take her to the vet as I took my cat to the vet and was given (bought) some ear medication and eventually got rid of them. They are difficult to get rid of and are easily transmitted to other cats. If she has the kittens before you get rid of the mites they will also get them. Also, often a stray has worms which also will be transferred to the kittens. Sounds like she needs a good vet check up. If you can't afford a vet check, please take her to your local animal shelter where she can be treated and then adopted out. If you stand your cat carrier on end, hold both her back feet in one hand and front feet in the other while supporting her body. Then lower her into the carrier back feet first. Have someone help by holding the carrier and be careful not to catch her feet in the door when closing. GOOD LUCK!

Best treatments for this are prescriptions, so you would need to get the cat to be seen by a vet to get it prescribed. Earmites can be very uncomfortable.
Do you live in the UK? If so, try to contact the Cat Protection League, (CPL), to see if they can arrange for you to borrow a trap. They provide neutering vouchers, and could neuter the cat for you, (which would prevent the kittens being brought up as ferrals which can make them difficuolt to rehome, then adds to the stray cat population), and while she is under the anaesthetic, she can be given a treatment called Stronghold, which is applied to the back of her neck, and is effective against ear mites as well as fleas and roundworms for up to a month. You will get a box of either three or six treatments so if she allows you to, you can apply it monthly to keep them at bay. In severe cases she may need an ear cleaner treatment called Canaural as well, which is applied directly to the ears.

You can get a tube of drops at either petco or pets mart for like $8-9. Its cheaper than going to the vet. I have personally used otc treatments, the cheap ones from walmart really dont work as well.

Using Mineral OIl will drown and flush the ear mites out.

You can find the ear mite drops at the local pet store or in the pet department at most Wal-marts.

You can go to any pet store and get some drops to put in kittys ear and that will take care of that problem.

You could tell the vet about it and he may give you something

I have read that urinating in the cat's ears will clear up this problem.
