Ok, me and this guy have been best friends for three years, and I'm pretty positive that he likes me. Lately every day we give each other a passage to read from the bible that reminds us of each other. I'm waiting for the day he gives me a passage in the bible that might vicariously hint towards him saying he likes me. Stupid.....yes, I know. So does anyone know any bible passages that I can give him that hints towards my feelings for him? Please try not to be mean, I'm just curious to see what people may come up with. I'm not a religious freak either!! It's just a hobby between me and him.

Proverbs 18:22 Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord.

Proverbs 31:10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

Ecclesiastes 3:5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing.

Also 3:9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labor. Or on to 3:11. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?

Song 3:1 By night on my bed I sought him whom my soul loveth; I sought him, but I found him not.
Or many others of the Song of Songs.

Ruth to Naomi, Ruth 1:16 And Ruth said, "Entreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee:for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God."

When it comes to male/female the Bible is not subtle for it sees nothing but union.

I would start with Ruth 1:16 because it spells commitment but doesn't get into the physical. If he doesn't pick up and respond to that, I would stand back and take a second look.

As for me, I wouldn't trade anything on a daily basis with a woman unless I was really interested in her. Are you missing something in what he is sending?

Try something from the song of solomon. It is after all really a love poem. Try: Solomon 1:1-4
"Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth for your love is more delightful than wine. Pleasing is the fragrance of your perfumes; your name is like perfume poured out. No wonder the maidens love you! Take me away with you- let us hurry! Let the king bring me into his chambers."

If the poor boy doesn't get that as a hint I don't know what else you could do! Good luck.

1 Corintheans 13:4-13

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
For we know in part and we prophesy in part,
but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.
When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.
Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love

"I may be able to speak the languages of human beings and even of angels, but if I have no love, my speech is no more than a noisy gong or a clanging bell. I may have the gift of inspired preaching; I may have all knowledge and understand all secrets; I may have the faith needed to move mountains-but if I have no love, I am nothing. I may give away everything I have, and even give up my body to be burned-but if I have no love, this does me no good."
1 Corinthians, 13:1-13

I don't think that is stupid at all..It is imaginative and righteous.
Maybe you'll find love AND go to heaven!
Look in the book song of songs..(song of Solomon)..lots of love passages, there.
Some of the passages are pretty heavy, but one might fit.
Or you can pick a passage from psalms and say that being with him makes you rejoice in God's goodness.

Read song of soloman.

There are so many romantic verses in there, that you will not run out of them for a very long time.

Maybe pick one of them where she is describing some of his physical attributes as "very" much wanted.

This sounds like a really cute way of courtship. I truely hope that God brings you together this way!

I'm sorry... I am an atheist but very familiar with the bible. I could come up with a couple just to be amusing, but I really feel that's a fairly disrespectful way to treat a religious text. Try reading Shakespeare to him instead.

Look up the Song of Solomon - some of the passages are really beautiful! .... and don't apologize or put yourself down for what you are doing - have some confidence that you are wonderful!

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 would probably seem too forward and suggestive. Let's see... How about...

"Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love...We love because He first loved us." ~ I John 4:7,8,19

Sounds like a creative and interesting method of communicating, but wouldn't it be better to be more straightforward and just ask him? Tell him that you like him and would like to know if he feels anything for you.
