i want to be a singer some day but ive heard that i have to write my own songs, and put music to them, and send them somewhere to be heard.

Music Production companies will give you a one-price package to put in all the background music. Look in local yellow pages or online.

Well, you heard correctly... usually if you want to be a singer you kind of have to write your own songs... that's pretty much a given. My thought is if you don't know how to put your lyrics to music, drop the whole singing dream. You need to be musically inclined, first of all. Doesn't sound to me like you are. You can sing your lyrics and create a beat, rhythm, etc. to go with it... I mean, that's pretty much the idea here. I would suggest taking music lessons.

If you're serious about becoming a singer than you should take composition classes. It's easier to write a song when you understand chord progressions and how melodies work with different harmonies.

Just hum whatever comes into your head, than write it down.
