Last week some dude sent me hate mail for saying that the United States is responsible for 48,000 deaths in Iraq. Well, that may have been a bit conservative. How about 655,000. Yes, 655,000. Sure the team of American and Iraqi epidemiologists used a method of sampling the population that can be somewhat inaccurate. But, really, how much could they possibly be off? 300,000? Not that people care, it's only like, the number of people in Milwaukee, no biggie. I believe that Saddam Hussian was responsible for something like 800,000 deaths so, we've got that to shoot for.

It just goes to show how easily things can be hidden from the public. 600,000 unaccounted deaths. But it would take a massive conspiracy too large for even the most powerful government in the world to pull off to load some bulidings with explosives and then get some crazy dudes to fly airplanes into them. 600,000 deaths we can hide, but not that.

What pisses me off most is that people are oblivious to it.

The general public will never feel any guilt over this.

To stonethedevil2004, I would know that because Saddam was heavily monitored before we invaded and hadn't killed on that scale since at least the early 90's.

It seems that you are oblivious to the fact that it's ragheads killing ragheads in an effort to keep the new Iraqi government from fruition; or to get the US out; or to not allow the Shiite and/ or Sunni tribes to gain control of one over the other. Does anyone really know what motivates the insurgents? Do they even know what their own objectives are, other than just keeping the pot stirred.

You may not be happy with the situation, and I'm not either. I don't see the US pulling out of the middle east anytime soon. I say this because we probably see some advantage to having boots on the ground, in the event this Iran problem intensifies.

I don't see how any of the deaths in Iraq can be Justified.

I am in total agreement that most of the people are oblivious to this and they go about their own lifes. What they also don't realise is that that is exactly what the Bush administration wants.

The less people are barking, the more freedom they have to do what they want.

From the moment the U.S. entered Iraq, it was clear thatthey had no business there. What did they expect? That they will be greated with open arms? They've killed someones mother, brother, children, etc.... and then they would like to be called saviours?

U.S. has a long history of sticking their nose in someone elses business. I am not saying that they were wrong in all of them because there were moments where their actions were appreciated, however, how about Vietnam? How about Kosovo? The Desert war?... Should I go on?

again, no, not one death in Iraq is justified. Shame on you Bush, shame on you for missleading your people and flatly lying to them.

I am done.

What pisses me off is you completely ignore the fact that secular violence kills the most with terrorists from other countries being second.

You should also note that 800,000 is probably a conservative count based on what census was able to discover, in other words, what they were able to dig up!
