Or for that matter if they stopped your heart on purpose for an operation at that point do you stop being a human being because you have no heartbeat? This is the argument that I hear from you alot about there is no heartbeat in a fetus so there is no human baby.

Are you kidding me, Jewishgirl???? Did I just hear you correctly? You are saying that regardless of whether something has a heartbeat...the "right to exist" is not a given for any entity that is alive???

Wow... I have a whole new appreciation for the true motivations behind some in the "pro-choice" movement... How appalling.

To point out all the flaws in this argument would take all day and frankly I don't have that much time to waste. This argument cannot be applied to adults or even children because they have been born (i.e no longer in the womb) and are fully developed on a cellular level. You are trying to compare apples to oranges.

BTW, Pro-Choice does NOT mean Pro-Abortion. Someone who is Pro-CHOICE is in favor of being allowed to make the choice themselves WITHOUT government or religious intervention. Not all Pro-Choice supporters will choose to have an abortion.

Yo doofus....if Im laying on an operating table undergoing surgery, that kinda belies the fact that I am a living breathing human being...... If my heart stops or is stopped on purpose, it means only that my heart has stopped artificially, or on accident.

Anyway you cut it, at the moment of conception, there is an eggg being split by a sperm cell. No cells become specialized until well after conception. A heart doesnt start beating for at least 3 months. YOU HAVE NO HEART up to that point. Furthermore, those cells have no idea of their existence.... So your point is moot. Sorry. Back to the drawing board!

I've never heard that one. I don't see how having a heartbeat constitutes life or even humanity.

Also I don't see why you people constantly moan.
I think it's upto the mother to decide whether or not to go through with it, you're not the one that's going to have to put up with the consequences of the child's birth.

You do not hear that argument! Most people know that the heart beat begins very soon after conception. So what!

What an idiotic question! If I am having an operation am I outside my mothers womb? You are not exactly a rocket scientist are you?

Abortion is not murder. A fetus is not considered a human life.

If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life. -- Exodus 21:22-23

The Bible places no value on fetuses or infants less than one month old.

And if it be from a month old even unto five years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female thy estimation shall be three shekels of silver. -- Leviticus 27:6

Fetuses and infants less than one month old are not considered persons.

Number the children of Levi after the house of their fathers, by their families: every male from a month old and upward shalt thou number them. And Moses numbered them according to the word of the LORD. -- Numbers 3:15-16

Nothing you say will change my opinion that the mother has the choice of what to do with her own body. What point do you think you are making? You don't believe in abortion...big deal. Don't have one. I don't like abortion! I would never have one. But I sure think that someone who does want one should be able to have one without some other jerk making her choices for her. It's not anybody's business but hers. Just like if you are dying of cancer and make the choice to not take chemo...it is NO ONE'S business. Stay out of other people's lives.

?????????????
Who said there is no heartbeat???
You can find a heartbeat on an ultrasound at 6 weeks! What are you talking about man...I too don't think abortions should be as easy to get as they are and they should have major restrictions, but you are way off!

the actual argument is, who cares if there is a heartbeat? just because something has a heartbeat doesn't mean it automatically has a right to exist.

It's far more complex than that. I'd explain it, but you wouldn't understand. Instead, go grab your book of fairy tales and check out Genesis 2:7. It clearly and indisputably defines the point at which life begins.
