Can someone tell me how to make them looser(STRETCHING THEM DIDNT HELP!) or less painful? I got them 2 days ago.

There is good news. The pain goes away. When I had braces I think it was about three days until I didn't want to rip all my teeth out.

I had those when I wore braces. There isn't anything you can do except start eating painkillers. Their whole PURPOSE is to move the teeth around inside your mouth, and that is NEVER going to be painless. And more fun to come: once those stop hurting because they've done their job, the orthodontist will probably recommend a whole NEW set to start on another tooth-moving goal. YAY!

You might see if your folks will get you some Tylenol PM or similar product to help you sleep at night. If I could have had anything when I was going through that, it'd have been help sleeping.

ouch! i feel your pain... and there really is no way, the whole point is to move your teeth more....BUT motrin actually does help...take some when you put the elastics on, by the time your teeth start to ache(and your jaw does too i bet) the medicine will have begun to work.....you should only need to do this for a couple of days b/c by then, your teeth will be used to the elastics( if you wear them right, as long as the dentists says you should.) i feel so bad for you, i went thru the pain and it DOES hurt...so good luck...

and if your parents say its ok...TYLENOL PM will definitly help you sleep...i take two, but go to bed early so u can get enough sleep, and wont feel yucky when you wake up=)

Are you sure you're supposed to hook it over so many braces? I don't doubt that the technique exists but if you literally can't open your mouth then it's obviously too tight. The rubber bands I had only hooked on the two bands on my molars. You may want to call the orthodontist and see what's up.

I had braces from grade 8 for two years. Back then, in the beginning It felt like someone was tugging on my teeth. You'll get used to it after a while. Wear your elastics because my sister didn't wear hers and her treatment got extended.

Unfortunately, that's what the rubber bands are for. They make your teeth hurt. You'll get used to it. Maybe take some tylenol or something for the next day or two to take the edge off.

Unfortunately there's not much you can do except grin & bear it. Taking Motrin (ibuprofen) will help. I don't know how old you are, so refer to the directions for dosage amounts. If it doesn't improve in a few days call your orthodontist for further instructions. Hope this helps and good luck! The price we pay to look beautiful...lol

stretching doesn't help take a Motrin and it should decrease the pain and when your teeth shift to fit them they wont hurt that much so just give it time and stick to soft foods like jello and soup and ice cream

My daughter got her bands last month, and her orthodontist said to take motrin. Other than that, there is nothing you can do. Her mouth was sore for about a week.
