I've had people do that to me too. Hell, I had a couple put me on their Church Prayer list. Obviously I'm a horrible person. *wink* They don't get credit for that stuff. It's their own personal pat on the back... their "ego stroke". And, honestly, makes them look pathetic when they do it.

credit?
If all you do, or anyone else does is for some sort of "credit" or points, it is in vain and profits no one.
God does not give brownie points or credits. God looks at your heart. If you pray for someone because you truely want God to intervene in their lives and change things for the better, that type of prayer is heard.
Credits or brownie points are a man made system for this life only. Man may give you honor or credits, never God.
God states in his word that if you do things to honor him in this life, but you do it to keep or gain respect and honor from man, you have already received all the reward you are going to get from that act.

I'm not sure what you mean by "credit." It's not like we're checking off a check list or a sinner do list. I'm not sure why anyone would tell someone knowing that they find it annoying.

There is no "credit" for prayers....you don't get paid by the prayer hour, silly.
Why in the world would you bother to get annoyed because someone told you they were praying for you?
Would you get annoyed if they offered to give you a fortune in jewels, too??
Gee, if someone gave me a fortune in jewels, would they get "credit"??

Credit? What, you think God spends all day in his great office in the sky, allocating credit to would be devouts.
If they're only doing it to piss you off, you don't need a religous arguement to justify telling them to get their act together.

"The fervent and effectual prayer of a righteous man availeth much"
Well, if you're "praying" for someone with the motive to annoy them...well, for some reason, I don't find that to be fervent prayer of a righteous man :\, and therefore wouldn't "availeth much". Besides, what is this "credit" you speak of?
