Hi! I just had a tummy tuck and hip liposuction in July, so I can share my experience with you. (I also had a C-section for a twin birth.)

I did not stay overnight in the hospital. I left within a half an hour of "waking up" from the surgery. The thing that will best help you to recover quickly is to GET UP AND GET MOVING THE VERY NEXT DAY! Just like a C-section, they make you get up and walk. It helps you body "relearn" how to move.

Recovery time is a solid 2 to 3 weeks, and even after that your mobility is slightly off. YOU WILL BE HUNCHED OVER ALITTLE FOR AWHILE, which makes your back hurt, but the more you walk the better. NO LOWER BODY EXERCISES at all for a solid month, just to help keep the swelling down. I would say I was COMPLETELY better in 6 weeks.

I paid about $8600 in Connecticut. I was able to FINANCE it, though, through CAPITAL ONE HEALTH CARE FINANCE, and I only pay about $180 a month, so look into that.

Overall, it was a great experience, and I am very happy with the results. It would be good to be in shape before the surgery. It will only speed up your recovery time.

Hope this helped.. feel free to contact me with more specific questions!

You don't have to have a tummy tuck to get your stomach toned. I have had 4 C-sections (also vertical incision) and my abs are very close to pre-pregnancy state. It takes time and dedication but you can get it back without surgery.

After my 3rd child was born, I became completely addicted to the ab roller. I was also roller blading a few times a week but in 3 months, I had lost the 40 pounds gained during pregnancy and you could bounce a quarter off of my belly.

Surgery can be very dangerous, there's always the risk of infection and the cost for this type of surgery is usually not covered by insurance.

Research "tummy tuck" on the net and get as much info as possible. This isn't a matter to take lightly.

Hi! I am in the same boat - same incision, but 4 c-sections. All I can tell you is that since you are cut vertically, the muscle is cut as well. You can tone the muscle but it will never be like a pre-pregnant muscle. Also, you may need some lipo prior to a tummy tuck. I would certainly look into it as I would have less trouble finding clothes however, my body looks great and I am proud of that, despite my 4 sections and (my age....shhhhhhhhh!)

A friend of mine had a tummy tuck recently. Recovery time is about 6-8 weeks. She stayed for the night. Cost- that I don't know. Get recommendations from people you know.

If it will make you feel good, go for it. It is one of the most painful plastic surgeries that you can undergo, but if you have had 3 c-sections, there is nothing too painful for you. It is day surgery and the cost depends on the surgeon you choose. Just a tip, don't go cheap on something like this, seriously.

Tummy tuck surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Forerunners Healthcare .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.
