It was one of the biggest military blunders in modern history. An error of competence from the very top of the military. It's time for massive demotions and firings and forced retirement of the top military brass. Nobody deserves to keep their job who was involved in the planning of this utter disaster.

No definition was given of victory because if most people realised what the war was for they would not approve. How do you create an understanding that it is vital to the USA economy and position as a World Power to occupy, in order to secure, the oil reserves of the middle east. The Campaign for Iraq has moved from the invasion to the occupation and pacification of the country. Forces will be required to be there for as long as life in the USA requires Oil. Forces will be needed there so long as the war machine that keeps USA strong and rich needs Oil to run. Oil is not just gas in your car. Oil is electricity, for lights and computers. Oil is refridgeration for your food so that you can eat. Oil is clean water so that your cities full of people can drink. As much as I detest your current crop of politicians, Bush and company are acting in the Interest of the US in prosecuting the occupation of Iraq.
Consider the almost total reliance of the US military on oil. Napoleon said an army travels on its stomach. A modern Army rides, flys, and sails on a full tank of fuel. If tech disapeared and no oil flowed the Third world would still have billions of people. Imagine how you might survive if they were still pissed off. Oil effects us even more than my few examples indicate. All your plastic products, Medicine, farming, fertilizer and entertainment are all based on oil in an oil economy.
I only hope that it does not escalate further. Other nations want what the west (includes Europe and Russia, not just US) has.
This war will end when Oil no longer matters, but the hydrogen, nuclear, solar economies are all just dreams at this time.
Tired of the war yes, but eager to see the collapse of the economies no.
the Iraq war has nothing to do with "terroism" except in the political arena. I just wish in this regard people were educated enough to understand the reasons and make the choices so that they did not need to be lied to for getting support for military policy.
Lies eventually come home and bite your behind.

It is no surprise that this was going to be a long war . Going into this conflict , we knew it would be a long time .
Apparently , it is the choice of some , to only listen to the drive-by media's left-wing, biased, doom & gloom "reporting"- therefore how would you know the good coming out of Iraq ? You hear what you want to hear .Who isn't tired of war ; it's never popular ; but unfortunately , due to terrorism , it is necessary .

We're engaged in a ground war / rehabilitation effort, and those things are long and tedious when there's local opposition. The president would need to set clear and obtainable goals -- a definition for winning. The obtainable goals would probably not include ground troops or rehabilitation, and some folks would find that alternative unpalatable at best.

How would you know whether or not our troops are doing a "good job" in Iraq? Have you been over there? All I can really say is, don't believe everything you see on CNN. Them (and pretty much every other news station) are so one-sided in their liberal views. They only report the bad things that happen and make it appear as if our troops are doing nothing in Iraq. Which is not true. And it doesn't matter if YOU are tired of the war, what matters is that we finish the job that we started. No one cares if you are ready to call it quits for what the military is doing over there.

Yes we know how to count too but the terrorists are still coming, so there is still war.
Have you ever been through a war to judge whether we are doing a good job or not, all I know is that we have troops over there dying to save what little democracy we have left, and if you were to ask them if they are tired of fighting they would probably answer that they are, but the objective hasn't been reached. The Iraqui people, the ordinary working class people like you and me need them and they see how much every day.

Oh please dear God, or Allah or Jehovah or Buddha, or simply luck, hear my prayer. Let there be anarchy so that I can bring out my rifle and show these morons what hell on earth is like, so that they may go to bed one night and wish that there was a George Bush who would send some troops to save them from the tyrannical raid and horrendous fury of my AR-15. STFU morons. I hear some one cutting some trees down, shouldn't you be out there to protect them. Friggin wimps. In nature only the strong survive, don't think liberal numbers will protect you pansies forever.

I am tired of the democrats(rats)/liberals continuing to demand are troops fight with rules that the liberals do not expect are enemy's to follow,if they hide in a mosque, and shoot at are troops than that mosque should be blown to dust,as well as any building used by the enemy,or civilians, liberals have placed so many rules on are troops that only, insure their defeat, and useless loss of American troops.

I'm tired...apparently other people on this forum like death and mayhem.
Again (below me) opinion, not facts.
What really makes me upset is that 3 and one half years ago was the day I gave birth to my second child. I had to write in her baby book she was born on the day of shock and awe.
