In my last question for you I didn't know about Pascal or his scale..it was just a thought came to my mind..now here it is different..You say you don't believe in God "any god not a specific religion" because there is no proof or you don't see any evidence..think with me in these thoughts:
1.Science is our way to dicover the universe which is God's creation..but theway to discover the creatures is sure different from discovering the creator.
2.We still know very little about this world and even the human body..each new discovery opens thousands of new fields of research..science is still a baby.
3.Evolution doesn't disprove creation..they can co-exist and it is highly possible that God is the one who designed evolution.
4.Don't you see it hard that this huge universe with this accurate design came from an aimless process "the big bang"..why don't you put in mind that God is the designer of this universe starting from the big bang to the end?

wait for the rest....

5.You say God didn't show up or send us messages..what about all those people who believe in him and all the scriptures on Earth? have you researched them all to find out that they are all man made and not real messages from God?
6.What gives you hope in this world ? We beleive in life after death and that everyone will take what he deserves either good or bad..that what keeps us patient..what gives you this patience?
7.Religion gives a different meaning to my life..What do you think is the real meaning of life if were just born to die?

21. Such as fear not the meeting with Us (for Judgment) say: "Why are not the angels sent down to us, or (why) do we not see our Lord?" Indeed they have an arrogant conceit of themselves, and mighty is the insolence of their impiety!

22. The Day they see the angels,- no joy will there be to the sinners that Day: The (angels) will say: "There is a barrier forbidden (to you) altogether!"

"Qur'an "25, 21-22"

I'm only trying to be honest to you..share your thougts with me..I've seen some answers here befor I complete my question..ok.

Does your train of thought have a caboose?? It's simple, Christianity is a man made religion...If you desire to follow that path, then I wish you well, but I choose not to believe in your imaginary friend. It's difficult to "think with" someone who is brainwashed in religion. sorry, but it's true.

1. Science is the seeking of physical truth, not the attempt to validate philosophy.

2 Granted. What's your point, that philosophies formulated by people one step out of the caves are valid simply because they've been around longer than modern science?

3. An invalid argument based on the assumption that a god exists and supported only by one self-serving source.

4. In other words, why don't I just accept your mythology. Sorry, I don't have the time or interest to devote to ghosts, goblins, boogeymen or how the Easter Bunny lays eggs.

"I agree, the big bang theory is flawed. Where did all the matter come from? I believe that there could be a creator."

Where did the creator come from, then? It's ridiculous to say that the big bang is flawed because you don't know where the matter came from, but instead believe in a god who didn't come from anything, just always was. Why is it less likely that matter has always been here than that an invisible all-powerful man has always been here?

I actually don't need to wait. You lost it at #4. There is plenty of evidence that the universe is entirely self-organizing. Organization does not imply design.

Think of it this way. With two simple rules, I can generate the mandelbrot set. However, the mandelbrot set is quite literally infinitely ordered (you can zoom in on any portion of it and find more and more information). So am I a god because I can write down the equations that generate the mandelbrot set?

You also ask what gives us hope? What does hope matter in the grand scheme of things? I hope that some of my ideas will get to people who develop them, and that my name manages to stay off them. When I die, that's it, I'd rather not have humanity harping on me once I'm gone. But that hope is just there because it's part of who I am, not because of the universe or some unseen creator.

As far as meaning goes, there is no meaning to life besides what we ourselves bring to it. We're born, we live, we die, the end. If we choose to consider something valuable and to make that meaningful in our lives, then that's our meaning. But there's no other meaning to life.

Ok, but I'm having a hard time deciding which "god/godess" to give the credit to. I have narrowed it down to the list below but I can't find the evidence to prove any of them wrong or right.

My list of possible gods who created the universe:

1. Jehovah
2. Ra, the sun god.
3. Zeus
4. The Great Eagle Spirit (native americans)
5. The Flying Spaghetti Monster
6. Invisible gnomes.
7. Xenu (scientology)
8. Athena (or any other greek gods/goddess)

..I could list hundreds more but you get the idea???

Why don't you "put in mind" that we don't accept that you are an authority as to what happened back then, since you seem to be unaware that there was a universe before the "big bang" as well as after. Plus you seem to have no real facility for logical analysis.

because i still dont think that god exists. i agree with you completely on your 2nd point. in mythology, the gods and goddesses that were worshiped were there to explain why things happened. how is that any different from god? is he not used to explain things like the creation of the universe and of humans?

Good open-minded question!
I agree, the big bang theory is flawed. Where did all the matter come from? I believe that there could be a creator.

of course we think it is accurate because we are all here to say that the "big bang" or whatever theory you like WORKED

We wouldn't be here if things failed now would we?
