I think it already is and for the same reason, we are trying to nation build before the conflict is resolved. Bush keeps trying to compare Iraq with WW2, but when we were re-building Germany and Japan we had completely destroyed their ability to make war. In Korea we didn't do that and ended up dividing the country in two. In Viet Nam we didn't do that and ended up accomplishing nothing at all despite the loss of some 58,000 U.S. lives, plus who knows how many Viet Namese civilians. All the enemy had to do in Nam was prolong the killing until the U.S. public got sick of it, they didn't have to win any battles. If our civilian leadership has forgotten that, as I believe they have, you may be sure the Iraqis haven't.

This is what the Liberals desire. Vietnam was their greatest victory. They were able to get the US to agree to surrender in a war they were winning. One of the bad things was that it tied the nations hands militarily for years to come. Perhaps we could have avoided the current terrorist situation if we were not bogged down by the loss in Vietnam.

Liberals do not hate this country they just love their power more.

I do not believe this will be another Vietnam because the leftists do not own a monopoly on news and information anymore. Talk radio, the Internet and Fox news has left the democracy cat out of the bag. With the opposition expressing their view we may be able to avoid another Vietnam.

IT already is the new Viet Nam. The US is ineffective in controlling insurgents and has no real policy in place to deal with them. By allowing the personal freedoms that we think everybody should enjoy, we aid the insurgents in their job. What we need is a horrible dictator who will bring the wrath of god down on anyone who steps out of line. Kind of like how Saddam ruled the country. Iraq is not the west and will never be. The people have no clue as to what to do with personal freedoms, and the religious insanity that prevails in that area pretty much assures that they will be fighting each other for the next few Milena. It would be like us having Catholics and Methodists at war with each other. Until those people understand that God does not run the Government and that the separation of church and state was established for the good of all, then we will have to continue to watch them kill off their own population.

the two have been began by using a faux premise. The Gulf of Tonkin inncident proved to be fake infomation. The U.S. were shelling N. Vietnam for days in the previous the alledged attack. And the 2d attack on our ships became shown later to be fake. And we are gaining wisdom of extra with reference to the synthetic education and propaganda unfold from the White domicile to our so stated as liberal media, that began the mess in Afganistan and Iraq. To me between the main outspoken critics of the Vietnam conflict became MLK. count of actuality he lost extremely some acquaintances and supportors by way of fact of that. at present we've 2 great dissentors. Howard Zinn and Noam Chomsky stay 2 effective voices against the Bush conflict mongering regulations. yet I do accept as true with your. the place are the youngsters of yankee? while will a sparkling era arise and say adequate?

if after this election and the democrats(rats)/liberals are defeated again, does not show the Republicans, that we want are troops to be given a free hand to win this war and do what the American army is designed to do(kill, destroy),and not concern themselves with collateral damage(which happens in a war),then no it will not be a new vietnam, but if they do not realize what the American people want, and allow dems to but rules, then yes!

Will be? It has been like Vietnam for three years! We're trying to fight a guerilla war, and we can't always tell friend from foe.

Only if the libs hand our enemies another victory.

Read about how the Congress de-funded our obligations under the peace treaty.

Ask a boat person how they felt about that.

WILL BE?

It IS!

We even have Henry Kissinger insinuating himself into the making of policy. For God's sake, hasn't this man done enough damage? When will he die, finally?
