How do you define civilians in an era when fighters do not wear uniforms and soldiers do not confine their fighting to the battle fields? Do you think a person who allows terrorists to hide their weapons in his/her living room is a civilian?????

Ha, I'm sure that's probably around the right number. But we have to know that this was not JUST by American Force alone.
I found it rather funny how Bush wouldn't answer the woman who asked, "Do you stand by your statement of 30,000?". He just said, "That 600,000 something or other is just ridiculous." And went on to the next person.

Think of all those bombs we dropped on those people at the beginning of the war. He claimed that only 30,000 Iraqi civilians have been killed since the War on Iraq started. How is this at all possible?

This is off by nearly an order of magnitude -- although 66,500 is still a shocking number. Your other respondentw are right in saying that most of them were killed by the terrorists -- and not just for being in the wrong place, but deliberately killed. The American troops have a nasty tendency to shoot back, which can ruin a terrorist's whole day. Same with the Palestinian and various African terrorists: they pick people who can't fight back.

If anyone actually listend to the news today they would have seen that number is based on a pole that was taken by asking the family members of the ones who have died. So the number could be far fetched or could be incredibly understated. I know a guy who is ex military and I have talked to him about this and the numbers given by the military are even higher than that, and yes they included the people killed from us and facaists.

I heard that today but I also heard that the count came from a door to door survey and not an actual body count. If that is the case, how accurate do you think that number really is? The other item brought up was that 70% were killed by insurgents. Either way, that is a lot of dead people.

Bush said that's not provin.. The terrorists are killing civilians in groves. Ya.. then were going to put 3 solderers in prison for life.. for killing 1 dude whom very well might have been a terrorist. There is way.. way to much coverage on this one.
