The 'Rapture', to be caught up, is something I thought was going to happen b4 the trib. When I went to the usual scriptures to back it up I was stunned. The usual verses I know like 'two will be in the field one will be taken the other left' and' we shall be caught up in the twinkling of an eye' left me wondering as I read onward. I maybe never took the time to study this but reading the passages after makes me think they are talking about the last day when Jesus gathers His faithful ones up that are left on earth. Many good churches refer to the Rapture as 'on'.Does anyone have any other more specific scriptures on it's actuality or is there no rapture b4 the last day--not that it makes a big diff but would like any insight.

I don't believe in a pre-trib rapture...that's just my opinion.

A Sunday School teacher (who believed/believes in a post-trib rapture, btw) once explained his position to me like this: "Is it God's character to remove His people completely from trouble times, rough times, etc?" - at least, that's my butchered version of his question, he worded it better than I could. At any rate...God, in His wisdom, chose to let His people spend what? 430 years in Egypt before He led them out? Yeah, there is the verse that says one will be taken and one will be left, but it does not say which person will be taken...or when. That may be a bad argument, but whatev.

I have another friend who believes in a mid-trib rapture, about the 3.5 year mark (7 year tribulation), who has an interesting view on the 144,000.

Honestly, I don't know what to believe...but, I'm really not too concerned about it. I think some Christians need to stop focusing entirely on a pre-trib rapture, and prepare to be in the tribulation, whether or not they believe it. If I'm "left behind," I have faith that God will take care of me...and if I die, then I'll be with my Father in Heaven, and I'm alright with that.

Who are the ones that will be ‘caught up in the clouds,’ as stated at 1 Thessalonians 4:17?

Verse 15 explains that they are faithful ones “who are left until the coming of the Lord,” that is, they are still living at the time of Christ’s coming. Will they ever die? According to Romans 6:3-5 and 1 Corinthians 15:35, 36, 44 they must die before they can gain heavenly life. But there is no need for them to remain in the death state awaiting Christ’s return. They will instantly be “caught up,” “in the twinkling of an eye,” to be with the Lord.—1 Cor. 15:51, 52, RS; also Revelation 14:13.

A better question is: Will Christ appear visibly on a cloud and then take away faithful Christians into the heavens while the world looks on? NO!

John 14:19, RS: “Yet a little while, and the world will see me no more, but you [his faithful disciples] will see me; because I live, you will live also.” (Italics added.) (Compare 1 Timothy 6:16.)

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
Chapter 5 of 1 Thessalonians is talking about the beginning of the tribulation period.
Don't let any big talking (or long talking) people mix you up, Hun, you stick with what the Bible says, purely and simply...thats the only book you need to read. We are NOT in the tribulation period now, or as a Christian, I wouldn't be here. In 1 Thes. 5:9, (speaking about the tribulation period), it says, "For God hath NOT appointed us to wrath.."
I like to think that as a Christian, I'm not steeped with "pulpit talk" but have the Holy Spirit to guide me and keep me from doctrinal error, and perhaps that's why so many others aren't "getting" the false message in the book that Wise Guy has written.
Hope this is helpful. God Bless.

Here is what God's Word States...

1Th 4:16 -17 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Here is a good article about the Pre - Tribulation Rapture.

Very Good!

I'm so pleased you went to God's Word for your answers.

I wrote a lengthy book about the end of this age, but Christians today are so steeped in pulpit-talk they didn't understand it. I had to shorten it to 70 pages, and they still don't get it.

The long and short of it is that we're in the great tribulation now. We have been for about 400 years. The age is almost over, but the seals aren't even over yet, let alone the 7 trumpets.

It's when the 7th trumpet sounds that the first resurrection occurs.

Don't let people confuse you. The bible tells us that, as believers, we are not appointed to wrath. The tribulation period is God's wrath poured upon the earth. So you were correct in your first thinking, born again believers will be taken out of the world before the tribulation begins.

The Rapture is a fairly recent bit of faulty theology. It is not in the Bible.

Some people are taught. No rap. prerap. post-rap.

What is sad...people go to church and hear something one time and run with it.

People are to what? SEEK AND YOU SHALL FIND".

It doesn't matter if your taught wrong or not, YOU will be accountable for seeking TRUTH.

There is a lot of smoke being taught. ha ha
