ummm... maybe it's because they're HOSTILE!!! I sure wouldn't want some dictator with a happy trigger finger to be in control of a bunch of nukes.

First, count the countries which HAVE nuclear weapons - United States of America, Great Britain, France, Russia, China, India, Pakistan (and Israel who won't say they have them). All BIG, yet relatively stable countries... and except for Russia as the Soviet Union, NOT aggressive.
Iran & North Korea are countries that have leaders who enjoy starting wars, exporting arms to terrorists, kidnapping other nations citizens, counterfittting US money, and openly stating that they want to see various countries wiped off the map... That makes the Hostile, Unstable, Unpredictable... and unfit to hold such weapons.
Also... the US and the other 7 countries are signatories to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty... which prohibits the export of the technology, the use of the weapons, and GIVES the signators the RIGHT to block NON-Signators from getting the weapons

As others have said, you answered it. Hostile countries, those hell bent on destruction and killing should not have nuclear weapons. Its similar to the argument with Iraq. People say that the U.S. is the problem in Iraq but its not hard to understand that if the insurgents stopped bombing Americans there would be no deaths and America would leave.

I think you realize you answered your own question. When it comes to who can and cant have nuclear weapons America is not the one that decides this. This is up to the UN. Basically its a trust issue. Would you be able to say 100% that countries such as N Korea, Iran, etc... wouldlnt use there nuclear weapons in less it was a last alternative. I dont think I could. Thats what it comes down to.

In the 1960's most countries signed the nuclear non-proliferation treaty. this treaty forbid other countries from developing or using nuclear material for weapons. Those countries that wanted nuclear power for energy had to go through the UN. Pakistan and India and Israel never signed.

The word here is HOSTILE. Crazy, lunatic, ugly, scary people from North Korea with nuclear weapons vs. a guy who isn't the smartest president, but is at least responsible.
