the summer before high school i lost just shy of 50lbs. for most of my life i had heard my sister tell me how fat i was and call me evil names... the kids at school did it too. my parents had the foresight to send me to an all girls school and i must say that all of the friends i made there boosted my confidence and made me feel better about myself - more so than losing the weight.
you need to feel comfortable in your own skin - no matter what size you are, until you are happy with yourself just the way you are nothing you do physically will help.
going shopping is a quick boost of confidence - remember to buy clothes that fit you, it was hard for me at first, i kept buying baggy things like i used to.
i distinctly remember reading wally lamb's she's come undone and thinking - wow! it hit me in a number of ways and it made me reflect on myself and what i had done... i know it's only a book, but it did help some.

I have the same problem too. When I look in the mirror, I see a fat girl. I think if you have ever been fat in your life, you will have that as your self-image.
My advice is to surround yourself with encouraging people who will be real with you. My boyfriend tells me that I look great, and sometimes I think he has to say that because he is my boyfriend. But he responds that he doesn't HAVE TO say it and that he is realistic.
Also, you should be realistic about yourself. If you have lost weight, then YES you look good. Better than you used to. If you still have areas you are working on, admit it and then do something about it.
Keep your self-conversation positive

If you've lost 100lbs then you do look healthier and more fit.
Accepting yourself will be a long process. You literally have to retrain your mind about what you look like. One of the things that helped me to really be realistic about my body are tabloids. Once I saw an unedited, unprepared for photo of Arnold Schwarzenegger with his shirt off, I felt much better about where I was at physically. Much of the standard that we use to measure ourselves in terms of pictures and movies are not reality. They are perfectly lit, with makeup and body positioning applied. I actually had the same experience with Wesley Snipes. He looks cut and built in his movies. I met him in real life and he is just petite. I'm 6'2" and he must have been all of 5'5" 5'7". I stopped comparing my body to his becuase we have totally different bodies. There was no way I would look like 5'5" petite man.
In short look at the real people and if you use other people as your standard at least use a realistic standard.

I cant say i am the best at this but look at all your clothes you had before and say to yourself i look damn good compared to what i was. I think that if you have a little meat on you, you look good. Not everyone likes the plastic barbie doll girls so be yourself and just think about what you used to be. 100 pounds is a lot and i look up to you for it thats is great.

i'm not fat, so i'm unable to respond to from that attitude, yet i'm a photographer. the factor of a image, extremely one that distinctive people will see, is to flatter the area. possible tell the proportions of the guy in touch, however the main significant concentration in located on their extra flattering factors. possibly they have pleasing eyes and lips- so the shot could be extra portrait. according to probability they have a great neckline or shoulders- so as that they could turn their physique somewhat to the part. that's not approximately deception. that's approximately catching somebody's eye- somebody who likes those advantageous factors, so as that they could discover out who they are as a individual.

Motivation? Go shopping!!! When you try on clothes and realize how tiny you really are, you will feel much better. Or get yourself a "little black dress" and wear it for just a normal day and watch how many heads you turn. Major kudos on the weight loss!

i to am heavy. i have lost weight, not as much as you, but i am working on it. i too still see my self as fat. but you just have to keep looking at yourself and believe me one day you will say ,who is that and it will click. but it takes a long time.
i went to a family reunion this year and we always take lots of photos. i was looking through them the other day and i was trying to figure out who my husband was standing next to------------to my surprise it was me.
im hoping that ,the photo will keep me motivated.but i really do understand where you are coming from. even though i have the photo i still see myself , in my mind as very fat.
so you have to believe in your self. you have to believe that you will remember how hard it was to lose the weight and how long it took you. you have to believe that you won't get crazy with the idea that you can't have that one cookie.but again it takes time. keep the faith. and good luck.
