I have seen it done and it looks great. It ussually saves BIG bux too! Definetly make sure the candles are completly surrounded by the candle holder tho, you want the globe to be a little taller than the candle too, this is to prevent them from going out as the walk down the aisle, and from dripping on dresses, floor, etc if they have to bend over to help with your train or anythign like that! The idea is GREAT! good luck!

It doesn't sound silly, but it does sound dangerous. Do you know how much hairspray is involved in an updo? Wax can drip on expensive dresses or rented tuxedos. What if you get a drunk bridesmaid or usher. Don't say it can't happen, you would be amazed at the drunkeness that surrounds weddings. Sorry, but I think this is a bad idea.

Sounds pretty- again I would check the church policy on it... it's surprising what they won't let you do- like no rose petals or birdseeds. Our is a historical church so no walking with candle either!! LOL
Also by and candle- and have one of your friends hold it and see how it looks- take some digital snap shots to see if you like the lighting.... Also I am guessing this is a evening wedding? Check the lighting in the church as well.

I don't think it's silly at all. The best part about your wedding is getting to make subtle unique changes to the traditional concept in order to make it personal to you. Will they hold the candles during the ceremony? I'd personally get nervous about that, but if they all placed the holders on a table around the unity candle or something, that'd be cool. Have fun!

No, not silly at all - besides, it sounds a heck of a lot cheaper than bouquets. Just be sure to be super careful regarding fire safety and whatnot. Talk to the wedding coordinator at the site to see if you need to okay anything with the fire marshall, too.

No, its not silly...i got married at 6:00 and we had candlelight. My girls carried margarita glasses with votive candles lit. They were decorated with artificle flowers that we hot glued on. It was beautiful. At the reception I arranged the glasses around the cake, then each bridesmaid got to take her glass home as a gift. Several of my friends still use them in their homes as decoration.

Not silly, but dangerous.
Think of all the things that have happened to people with just the unity candle. Yet alone people prancing around with candles.

It does not sound silly at all. Actually, it sounds quite nice. You can do whatever you want because it is your special day and you are the one to live with the memories whether good or bad. Why not make it good by doing whatever satisfies you little heart. Congratulation!!!!! I wish you and your husband to be all the happiness in the world.
