Even though I don't like the look myself I took into consideration that my 14 yr old daughter is a individual and at least I wasnt dealing with her wanting her nose peirced or tatoo or purple hair-so, I let her get it done. I had to sign for it since she isnt 18. I told her that if I catch her showing it off, wearing big gauddy jems or wearing half shirts-it gone. It does leave a hole type scar in your navel and one day she will regret that-but, as she reminds me times are changing and I rememeber wanting my ears peirced twice(two earrings in one ear) and my mom making me wait til I was 16.
Your mom sounds like she is only wanting a good respectful daughter and if you show maturity and good moral she may re-think it through but, if not-think of another way to be creative and express yourself.
good luck

I'm on her side. I also have 17 piercings and 5 tattoos.
Let me explain:
If you are still growing, you can force migration or rejection on the piercing, which can leave some really disgusting scars and piss you off when you lose this piercing.
A navel piercing requires diligent aftercare for 6 - 12+ months until it is fully healed. Most 14 year olds aren't dedicated enough to manage this. Infection can occur easily. This part of the body moves a lot and is prone to migration. Also, most reputable piercing studios will not pierce minors under 16 unless it is earlobes.
Do some research on jewelry, aftercare, healing, how to locate a good piercer, risks, etc and present this information to your mother. It will show maturity and devotion.
Again, I doubt any piercers will put a needle into a kid under 16.

You are only 14. Do you really want a belly button piercing? If you are modest you wont even show your belly so what is the point.

well if you have an outy belly button....dont do it. you cant and it looks stupid.
but if you have an inny....get someone that has done it before to do it for you. search around your school i'm sure you'll find someone. assuming you're in high school since you're 14. and after you get it done, don't wear too tight t-shirts or shirts that show your belly when you raise your arms. and after it has healed and all, you can ear those shirts again when you take the ring out.

just wait. navel piercings are very infection prone, and since its a surface piercing it always grows out. navels have to be re-pierced ever 4-5 years just like eyebrows. because you are still growing, yours will probably grow out in less than a year. at my shop we dont do navels on any customer under 18 just for this reason. wait, please.

You'll be lucky! Once a mother makes her mind up, you wont change it. I had to wait until I was 16 before I could get my ears pierced.
