Are they under the control of their leaders? How about when a political leader uses religion for more support and his people believe since he is religious that he is more ethical and they don't question his actions? Are you going to tell me that this hasn't happened and doesn't continue to happen to this day?

A lot of people say their religious and think their religious, when in reality they care nothing about God. They pick and choose which of God's laws they want to abide by. The have a pocket religion the they use whenever it's convenient and hide it in their pocket when it's not. True Christians try to follow the Bible to a T. We aren't under the control of anyone but God and we are His tools. We don't accept or support the actions of ANYONE who doesn't stand for what is right according to GOD. Sad thing is, most people who say they are religious, only stand for what they want and will NOT be going to heaven.

Yes religios people are just tools in most of religies.
Cause do you lurn in history about people or do you lurn about few really inportaint people? Ofcourse you lurn about few people. I mean yes they use us as tools. Not just religion and goverment. States became an animals. THey grow olny for a good of capitalists. Bicuse people would not hate each other for theyr ethnic or if they are Serbians or Germans or stuff. That is created by the people who wanted to be rich on other peoples expences. If they wouldnot teach us that we are one nacionality and some others other nacionality we wouldnot hate all the people from one nation bicuse one individual did something whong. THe nations are used to make easier to evil people to control people. Like hirds of on exemple goutes.
You have few smaller hirds so farmer could control
the animals. If you had one big hird then animals would run away. We are the hirds and capitalists are the farmets.

religion is a man made thing, brought about to keep people under control. the need to frighten them to be good or face the consequences of eternal damnation.so is religion a tool? i guess it is, a vice you might say. lets all down tools and go on strike, no more religion please. the world might possible be a happier place.. by the way i am not religious but i do believe in god. did he invent all these religions?

I see you do not understand that each Person is to have his own individaul relationship with God their father that art in Heaven.

most religions don't have "leaders." ever heard of judaism, buddhism, wicca, hinduism, taoism? catholicism is pretty much the only religion with a "pope"-like figure who tells them what to do.

I agree it is true, everywhere. When someone is convinced that they are doing something in gods way they will defend it more. I think every war so far has been based on religion which is terrible.
