I think its a combination of the way i sleep (sideways), and maybe my schoolbag. What canI I do to relieve these pains.

Do some stretching exercises. They always help me.

Try using a sports cream or Bengay to help relieve the pain and loosen the muscles. Also, try to lighten the load in your school bag if possible. If you have a locker at school, dump some of the book you don't need in it and trade them out when you change classes.

With the bed, try flipping the mattress over; you may have a flat spot if you sleep in the same place all the time. If the mattress is over five years old, it may be time for a new one.

alternate shoulders when carrying your pack. moms get this, too, when they tote kids on one hip and never switch sides.

shoulder rolls are good - in both directions. but the best thing i know for back and shoulders is in erich schiffman's yoga book, moving into stillness. there's a seven-part shoulder release routine that takes about ten minutes to do, and will give you immediate results. i sit at a computer for 8 hours a day and i use these exercises throughout the day.

i got the book at the library, and it was absolutely worth it just for that section.

Those heavy school bags are very bad for the health.
Don;t know how to help except to get one of those bags that have a handle and wheels.
A registered massage therapist will do wonders for the tension and pain.
