Last year the governor passed a bill banning the sales of sodas in all public schools in the state of California. Do think this was right? Why or why not?

(If you want to, please add your grade if you are in school or add your state. Don't worry, I'm no sicko, this is totally voluntary. I just want to see what kind of people I'm dealing with, thanks!)

Awesome! I think it's great! Soda is so bad for you. Just this week a study came out linking osteoporosis and cola. And all that sugar is bad for our teeth, let alone our bodies. The less exposure we have the better!

I think it is great. I recently had gastric bypass sugery and my doctor doesn't let me drink soda because it enlarges our stomach, therefore makes us want to eat more, which ruins our chance to lose weight. (Well, I had the surgery back in 2002 and have lost 120 pounds) Anyway, I now limit myself to 1 a day when I get home from work. At work, I drink a bottle of water or two, with that on the go stuff from crystal light. The soda also doesn't do good stuff for your teeth. I believe that schools everywhere are taking it out of their cafeteria's, etc., not just in California, so don't feel so alone. =)

college lunch courses have been initially started after the militia asked it. the reason became by way of fact we mandatory extra beefy youthful adult men to serve in the militia. when you consider that that factor, college lunches have steadily been replaced with healthful dietary lunches to rubbish. some people think of that Gatorade is a healthful drink, yet that's in basic terms branding. that's not a healthful drink. Athletes will usually sell beverages like Gatorade for funds, yet they don't drink them themselves. college are area of the government. Why could desire to they sell commercial products like sodas and Gatorade? they at the instant are not banning young ones from bringing soda to college.

I think it's great. I totally believe it's a step in the right direction. School kids are spending too much money on soft drinks. They're not good for you. They should be replaced by bottled water and fruit juice instead. Childhood obesity is becoming more and more common in school nowadays and this ban is a great step to the prevention of it.

rights my ***, if you're under 18 you don't need that right.

Soda is bad period, in limited amounts,,, fine but as with most teenagers (I know I have one and I was one) you give theman inch they take a mile. So one soda a day can easily turn into 4-5.

There are much better and healthier choices that can be made that will also help to make kids have more brain power, like grabbing fruits, veggies a real meal, milk water fruit juice etc.

I think they should ban all outside food and drink from all schools and the only eating and drinking will be in the cafeteria. School uniforms should be nationally the same. School environment should be extremely strict as you can no longer be spanked. If you need liberal time, it comes after school at home.

It stinks. Just another thing the government is controlling. Parents are the ones who should do their jobs and check out what their kids are drinking.
