Were there any saints that struggled with an addiction like alcohol or an eating disorder like gluttony?

There are saints all over the world that struggle with sin. But in this day and age, we have sanitized the word "sin," and called it "addiction." Now we don't need to repent, we need "therapy."

God help us all!

As long as we are in this body of sinful flesh, we will always struggle with sin, even as Christians. That's why we are to renew our mind with God's Word, because all sin starts as a thought...the more we entertain the idea of acting upon that sinful thought, the likelier we are to fall into sin, whether it be addictions or what have you.

Do you mean in the bible or in the world today? I know that Lot got drunk sometimes and that his daughters slept with him to have offspring. But, didn't hear of any prophets being gluttons or alcoholics. Sorry. Let me know though.
