Two weeks is all it takes of not working out to undue what you have done, but getting back into shape goes quicker than the first time you did and exercise or workout program

Whoever said it does not happen fast must have worked out their entire life. I am an exercise physiologist and I know that muscle deconditions 3 times as fast as you condition. Therefore, if you lift regularly for 12 months not lifting for 4 months would be like you never did it. However, muscles remember so it may be easier to start back up lifting because your form will be better than when you initially started because your muscles remember how to move. Good luck on keeping your muscle. ALSO there was a study done I do not remember the reference but I read it in class during my MS if you do one rep at 90% max you cannot lose any muscle mass and will retain your strength so if you have no time maybe just do a little heavy lifting quickly but be sure to use right form and know your weight so you do not injur yourself.

Yes..it happens over time...but not to fast...and whatever muscle you lose can be gained back pretty fast while working out again...unless you gain a lot of weight while not working out
