speaking particularly of the "place", what do we mean by the logistics of the place?

Logistics is the process of managing efficient flow and storage of raw materials, inventory and finished product from point of origin to point of consumption.

The 4 P'S of the Marketing Mix relate to:

- Product (What good/service you're selling)

- Price (The ideal price that will max profits and decrease surpluses in inventory)

- Promotion (What will you do to promote the product ... advertising? sales promotions? personal selling... etc ... etc)

- Place (Distribution - How is the consumer going to get it)

In terms of 'Place'...

When developing a marketing plan you must choose how your will get your product to the consumer...
ie: Internet, physical store location, warehouse.... and all the logistics behind your distribution strategy... Let's say you have a great product at an amazing price and awesome advertising BUT... you are not selling in the right market.. OR... you have a bad distributor... to me these two things are a 'Place' issues...
