it's possible that it could be a heart attack- but it's possible that it could be a number of other things as well. But if you're experiencing tight chest pain (which is a very common symptom of a heart attack) then you need to go to the ER and have someone look at you. Pain in your arms is also a sign of a heart attack (it's usually more common in the left arm, but it can also present in the right arm as well). Anyway, if it is a heart attack then the sooner you get treatment the better. Are you feeling dizzy, experiencing sweating or lightheadedness?

It sounds almost like a muscle strain. If you are young with no high blood pressure or heart trouble in the family it's very possible that it is muscle strain. If you have been under stress or depressed it could be anxiety which cause muscle pain. If this keeps up don't mess around with the symptoms. My son had these problems while he was depressed and under stress. This is when he found out his blood pressure was very high. They ended up having to put him on meds.

It's hard to say not knowing your age and medical condition, but you need to have your heart checked. The pain you describe sounds like it could be cardiac in origin. Other possibilities include aortic dissection (that's really bad) or gastric problems such as reflux or gall bladder disease.

Bottom line: get to a doctor or ER immediately. Better safe than sorry.

Do not go to Webmd or any other source. This could be cardiac pain, and you need to see an internist for evaluation, not guesses.

I SINCERELY HOPE THAT BY NOW YOU HAVE ALREADY SEEN A DOCTOR AND THAT EVERYTHING IS FINE.

How can all of you who have health problems look for answers on Yahoo Answers rather than see the professionals, doctors etc.???
