Carbon dating only works on dates of about 30 000 years so it's not much use for dinosaurs.

Well if he did get bored it took a long time 175 million years or so, which is 174,000,000 more years then the smart ape man has been around.
I don't know about the Quran. But the bible mentions giants several times. No doubt this was because of fossil dinosaur bones discovered from time to time and misinterpreted in the typical human-centric way of the time as being the bones of giant people.
Carbon dating is not used for dating anything older then 60,000 years. This is Radiometric dating http://www.answersingenesis.org/home/area/faq/dating.asp
Nether method of dating is infallible.

And just how do you know that dinos were ever the dominate species? And just how do you know that the dinos didn't just simply die off. Ah, yes that semi-accurate science known as carbon dating. How do you know that carbon dating even works?
It is, of course, based on a known science, that is, dating an object from a known time. Beyond that it is an educated guess.
Or possibly a "wild a** guess."
It is always amusing to me to see questions that are based on assuming something and then asking a question as to that the why of it.

The Bible describes a pair of creatures in such a manner that some scholars have self assurance the writers could have been describing dinosaurs. The behemoth is declared to be the mightiest of all God’s creatures, a huge whose tail is likened to a cedar tree (interest 40:15). some scholars have tried to become conscious of the behemoth as the two an elephant or a hippopotamus. Others factor out that elephants and hippopotamuses have very skinny tails, no longer something corresponding to a cedar tree. Dinosaurs like the brachiosaurus and the diplodocus, on the different hand, had extensive tails that could truthfully be whilst in comparison with a cedar tree. almost each historical civilization has some kind of artwork depicting huge reptilian creatures. Petroglyphs, artifacts, or perhaps little clay collectible figurines contemporary in North usa resemble modern-day depictions of dinosaurs. Rock carvings in South usa depict adult men using diplodocus-like creatures and, amazingly, undergo the standard photographs of triceratops-like, pterodactyl-like, and tyrannosaurus rex-like creatures. Roman mosaics, Mayan pottery, and Babylonian city partitions all testify to guy’s trans-cultural, geographically unbounded fascination with those creatures. Sober money owed like those of Marco Polo’s Il Milione mingle with dazzling thoughts of treasure-hoarding beasts. besides to the important volume of anthropic and historic evidences for the coexistence of dinosaurs and guy, there are actual evidences, like the fossilized footprints of human beings and dinosaurs got here upon at the same time at places in North usa and West-substantial Asia. If dinosaurs and human beings coexisted, what occurred to the dinosaurs? on an analogous time as the Bible would not talk the situation, dinosaurs in all probability died out sometime after the flood via a mix of dramatic environmental shifts and the certainty that they have been relentlessly hunted to extinction via guy.

Neither the Judaist God, nor the Christian God nor the Muslim God knows prehistoric eras to tell you. Isnt it a proof enough that those books were written by men who had no knowledge of dinosaures and other prehistoric creatures?

God did it to make a puzzle for man to contimplate and cause mental stimulation to further the evolution of the human brain to the point that we will finaly be able to comprehend Him... or not... what ever theory you have on the subject is fine too.

God just wanted to starte something new. To do that, he had to have a clean slate. So he had to kill them all.
