After a year, I think I would trash it. It might be safe to eat, but the quality would definitely be diminished. With all the latest scares about food contamination, I think most of us are kind of leery when it comes to eating just about anything. You might check with your local health department's extension service and get their opinion. But my motto is: If in doubt, throw it out. Better to be safe than sorry.

Look for freezer burn - if it is white all over and has frost inside the plastic - it may be. Seafood usually is pretty safe in the freezer though.

i wouldn't eat it bc it might b frost bitten and it might not taste right. i don't like shrimp but thats my opinion.
